I've got a G4 iBook running 10.5 Server, and it runs OK. The thing is, my G4 is a 1.42GHz, which is a bit heftier than yours. My suggestion is this: if you have the ability to try both, try 10.5 first and see how it runs. If it doesn't work out, you can fall back on 10.4, which is a great OS in my opinion.
