Yes, Apple is dropping support for PPC machines and Tiger in general. These
machines are still useful - I currently am using a PB G4 15" 1.25GHZ I paid
$145 for on ebay and am running Leopard quite well. I am also using a MDD G4
running Tiger Server Unlimited. My mother still uses a G3/500MHZ iMac with
Panther for e-mail and music. For some basic purposes PPC macs, even with
unsupported Os's will still be useful for years to come.

Until the Motherboard fried from me putting to many hard drives in (hee hee
oops...), my Beige G3 Minitower was a great machine for over a year due to
the Personality card and OS9. I used it as my
TV. When i do get an intel machine, it won't be from Apple. I'll build
a Hackintosh.
