This is pure, unadulterated, horse hockey. If there was enough voltage running through the chip to "bore new paths" in the substrate and short out the cpu, the problem is not the OS, but someone hooking the damned thing up to 240 Volt Mains. Get yer story straight. Peace, Dennis in Victoria
