Backup your irreplacable files right away. Or you will have much more to
worry about than the cost of a new drive. USB drives are a steal these days.
Or burn them to DVDs or even CDs.

The drive is probably factory installed and has seen a lot of revs. They
wear out. It is a throw away ( recycle) item. Part of the " great circle of
life!".
