thanks. but i did try the obvious. the cables are both good. had 2 HDs connected, no problem. also booted from an IDE HD and system still would not see DVD when it was the only thing on the PCI/SATA card. in fact, it wouldn't even see the ACard when only the DVD was attached, tho it does see the ACard when nothing is attached, and when the boot HD is on the other SATA port. just won't see the DVD. and the DVD drive is brand new Pioneer DVR-218L, right out of the box. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
