Start Keychain Access, find the keychain item for your mail account (It will be
saved as an 'internet password' for the mail server) and double-click on it.
Click on the Access Control heading, make sure 'Confirm before allowing access'
is selected, 'Ask for keychain Password is UN-checked, and Mail is the only
application in the list of allowed access.
