2010-08-26 19:27:52.100 SoftwareUpdateCheck[626] -[NSCFString substringFromIndex:] called with out-of-bounds index. For apps linked on Tiger this will raise an exception. For earlier apps it will produce this one-time warning and continue with existing behavior (which is undefined). 2010-08-26 19:27:52.105 DiskManagementTool[627] *** Uncaught exception: <NSRangeException> [NOTE: this exception originated in the server.] *** -[NSCFString substringFromIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds Aug 26 19:27:57 Jacob crashdump[628]: DiskManagementTool crashed Aug 26 19:27:57 Jacob crashdump[628]: crash report written to: /Users/ jruschme/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/DiskManagementTool.crash.log It turns out that the problem by MacFUSE, specifcally the fact that I was using the PogoPlug software.
