Apple updates come in two flavors 'Update' and 'Combo update' All updates (combo or otherwoiese) only affect on major version (1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6). A simple update will update the immediately prior minor version(10.4.6 to 10.4.7, 1.6.0 to 1.6.1) the combo update will update ANY prior version of the major version in question (the combo update to 10.4.11 will update all versions of 10.4, not just 10.4.10.) This combines all the previous updates into one package and is the only kind of update that will run on itself, eg: you can install the 10.4.11 combo update on 10.4.11, in this case to fix things that may be broken beyond the fixes in the 10.4.10-10.4.11 update. It is a common step in fixing a problem system. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
