Well, it went better than I thought.
I had two partitions with some data "lost" (i.e. non backed up) in them; one
was untouched after partitioning from Disk Utility, on the other I copied
some data back on it (I know, silly me).

I run Data Rescue X 10.0.3, and on the first (untouched) partition it found
almost everything, so I was able to recover the missing data. :-)
On the other partition, just garbage... :-/

So, if you happen to erase your disk(s), the old rules still apply: DON'T
write anything on that disk, and try to run a data rescue tool (like Data
Rescue on OSX, or Norton Unerase in OS9) as  soon as possible.
You may be lucky. ;-)
