The most modern G5 machines are Late 2005 ones (the last ones before Apple decided that personal computer market doesn't mean a lot for a company). Late 2005 G5s have PCIe, SATA, and DDR2 SDRAM. They are very fast machines, even in comparison to em64t Core i7 machines. Dual core 970MP 2.3GHz machine is very nice choice. The most powerful one is 2 CPU x Dual core ("Quad core") liquid-cooling 2.5GHz machine. Any of them would be a great choice for at least next 5 years.
