OTOH, when I close Skype (v. 2.8.0.866) it often gives an error (like "Unexpectedly quit" or something). I wonder if that happens while shutting down the G5, and it causes something on the subsequent boot. But why Skype would have something to do with the optical drive? > I have happen sometimes but mine opens and closes.
