Hi Tom,
I think that only some of the keys can be held down and then have another 
key hit.
If the control, shift or alt keys are held down for a while they only send 
one signal to the computer but if the space bar is held down it sends a 
signal every tenth of a second or so.
 At least that is what happens in Visual Basic.
And since JFW uses the insert key and others use the caps lock key those 
probably do the same as the control key.
So maybe you should use the control key as the jump modifier since it is the 
easiest to find.
