Well people don't face grues, they get eaten!
though a grue did turn up in my comedy dungeons gamebook adventure and what
thoughts i've had for a sequel also involve a grue.

Again, just like the last time someone asked about horror, well what do
you mean by horror?
For example, several of the choiceofgames feature monsters such as
vampires and zombies or battles with alien monsters.
The game soul trapper I believe involves an interactive audio drama story
with ghosts and demons and such, and if I remember rightly blindside is a
similar interactive audio drama set in some sort of appocalypse, and
there are likely more especially when you start considdering interactive
fiction and such.
