Hi Dark,

I disagree. Its the way you are playing the game that causes that to
happen. when I play Trek 2000 I almost always get to shoot first,
because I don't sit around waiting for them to show up. I have a very
aggressive campaign going where I bring the war to the enemy, invade
their space, and beat them up pretty bad before having to make a hasty
retreat back to my starbases to restock photon torpedoes and energy
for my engines and phasers.

That said, I have noticed a lot of people make that mistake. They
don't play the game aggressively and basically find a Federation
station, go there, and sit and wait for the enemy to show up. A
straight forward strategy but a bit of a lazy one. If you want to get
the most out of Trek 2000 you need to be fighting the enemy out and
without the support of your bases where the odds are more evenly
matched.

Cheers!
