The reason that there are more Android devices sold is because there are so
many different Android devices on the market compared to iDevices. Take any
single model and make of Android phone and compare the sales to an iDevice,
and the Android will be blown out of the water. A huge number of people buy
Androids based on price, too, and they get what they pay for. Some Android
models even have problems of having been hacked, or already containing a
virus when they are bought. But they didn't cost much, either. Check past
episodes of a podcast named tii, which stands for Today In iPhone for
detailed information.

are vastly outselling the iPhones? I have a mix of open source and
proprietary stuff in my house, a 4th gen apple tv, android phone,
windows10 laptop, and my cable box is a mix of open source software and
some proprietary stuff. yes even comcast cable uses open source stuff in
its talking set top boxes. and i also have a ubuntu 14.04 dvd disk around
here in case I need it.
