Hi Charlse.

In the original frogger, you began at the bottom of the screen and had to make your way to the top.

First, your frog had to pass several lanes of traffic moving from right to left without getting splatted, hence my suggestion, then when you finished hopping the traffic you had to hop onto lilly pads moving right to left in the stream.
So, it went from avoiding traffic to jumping on lillies.

As the game went on more things were indeed added, the cars and such moved faster, but as was the tradition with games in those days, you really had to work hard to even pass one level just because of how your frog moved relative to the obstacles around you.

Sinse Hopper already has the lillypads, adding the traffic would be cool, and no, there wouldn't be any copywrite issues of a concept so long as neither the original source code nor the name frogger was used, after all the old flash game designed on audiogames.net, the curb game was the same principle, though in that game you played as a hedgehog not as a frog and it just had the crossing road portionwith no lillies to jump or whatever.

Hth.

All the best,

Dark.
