John,
Wow. I never once said that anyone was an idiot. I am merely
pointing out the advantages to an upgrade that some might be
overlooking. I'm not suggesting that anyone trash their XP machine
necessarily. I am merely suggesting that if they wish for the newer
games that are in development or have been released to work, perhaps
they should consider an upgrade in lieu of expecting the developer to
go out of their way to add backward compatibility for an operating
system that even the maker of doesn't support anymore. And they might
want to think about the fact that Certain features that can be
implemented due to current standards in hardware and OS, ones that
make the game what it is in terms of audio or controls, may not be
available in XP. I have no problem with a person that wants to keep
XP around for older things. My only concern is a willingness to
summarily dismiss the idea that an upgrade mi9ght benefit them out of
hand without knowing the facts. And just as a side note to you, no
matter how "ridiculous," you think this debate is, it's
constitutionally protected.
