Hmmm nicholas, it sounds as if something strange is happening with your speakers or headphones.
I personally don't have trouble distinguishing the position of the electricity sounds on my sterrio headphones, but had real difficulties with speakers. what I usually do is, when I here the oooof! sound that means the next slide will be under electricity, I do all the hammering and twisting, then wait until the electricity is in a different position from where my hammering etc came from (I find the direction of the water sound slightly less clear), before making the twist. As far as I can determine, there are five possible electricity positions ranging from far left to far right (though I could well be wrong about this), with a possibility of up to three being active at once. One thing I found very helpful in improving my Pipe skills were Raul gillegos audio walkthroughs for the game (I never knew you could get that much speed out of a hammer!). Unfortunately the page that used to hold them doesn't seem to be up anymore, but maybe you can get them somewhere? (I've downloaded them myself and thus have them on my harddrive, but I have nowhere to upload them and they're certainly too large to E-mail). well hopefully some of this stuff helped anyway, and I'm sure there's a way to here those audio walkthroughs somewhere. Beware the electrified grue!
