I came across a bug which happens each time I want to load a game using the load game option from the main menu. When I press enter on load game instead of taking me directly to the list of save slots, I'm on the ground floor. Sometimes sarah is stuck, she can't go anywhere. It once even happened that the goblin appeared and I'm playing the game only on easy at this stage. But sarah doesn't stay on the ground floor, I hear peeves for a few seconds and then the list of save slots comes up. This only happens if I choose load game from the main menu, if I press f4 within the game I can load a game immediately.
