You can occasionally find 3 dimensional jigsaw puzzles.  I have one that is 
an apple toat comes apart into about 50 pieces.  Lotsa luck getting it back 
together, though.  The puzzle is built in layers.  Then, there is the puzzle 
that looks like a solid cube of wood that comes apart into 6 pieces.  Stuff 
like this can be bought in stores exclusive to selling puzzles.
