You are absolutely right, and this brings out why user's guides, walk 
throughs, and other such documentation, which have had a lot of hard work 
and time spent on their creation, should be appreciated and explored.  Time 
could be spent improving the game rather than answering questions that have 
already been answered in the documentation that came with the game.  Also, 
puzzles should be puzzling.  It gives, or should give, satisfaction when you 
solve them yourself.  Heck.  Anyone can, and a lot of people unfortunately 
do, ask for solutions either very soon after receiving the games.  Even 
worse, I have seen, on gamers lists, solutions asked for by gamers who 
haven't even gotten their games yet.
