Hi To be honest it's ben about 5 years since I played it, but I do remember you do ned to run and jump.
Find out how to make your character run, then right when you hear the squelchy noise just before you enter the acid pit, you hit the jump key while still holding down the runn key. What those keys are, I really don't remember, it's been a damn long time.
