well there is spoorsim.
although they really didn't develop it and it was prity boring, yeah you could 
control the train somewhat but whats the point if you  just go round, back and 
forth.
with no real missions, etc.
I can take off in fs2002 and just fly round and not land or anything and just 
get bored real quick.
