Accessibility and usability are two different things. Nobody could
argue that the iPhone 3GS is inaccessible, because the screen reader
ships installed on it and gives you access to every app that ships
with it. There's even a more accessible way of enabling it for the
first time than there is on Symbian and Android. Third party apps
aren't 100% of course, but find me a platform where it is and I'll eat
an iPhone.

What most people who argue it's not accessible mean is that they find
it unusable, and what most of those people have done is spend 10
minutes noodling with it. In most cases, that means they've tried to
take in an unfamiliar OS, unfamiliar UI's in each app without the
typical menus and the like, a hugely alien way of interacting with
that unfamiliar UI, and most often they do that 10 minute tinker
without reading up on the jestures first. The "why do I have to learn
jestures" argument is pointless too, seeing as you'd need to learn the
button layout of any Symbian or Windows Mobile device to use it would
you not. Your average iPhone hater would quite literally have
palpitations if they took a look at Android, it's an even more alien
method of interaction.

I don't defend it so vigorously because I'm an owner of one, I'm
not... the way blind people drag their heels at the prospect of a
different method of interaction just gets my goat is all.

Jason - do some research man, see if you can get your game up and
running on the platform. It'd be a welcome addition I'm sure.

Cheers
Scott
