The sword fighting game is packed neatly away in wii sports resort,
the sequal to wii sports. Conveniently, the directional pad works in
sports resort, but it does require the wii motion plus accessory to
more accurately sense your movements, and some games use the nun-chuck
controller. On the whole, sports resort is way better than wii sports.
The sword fighting is one of the better simulations I've seen, even if
it's a little silly. Partially, it's my training, but I've made it
into pro class fairly easily.

Besides sword fighting, there's cycling. It requires the nun-chuck,
and you use the controllers like the pedals of a bike, moving them up
and down alternating the position of each. You lean the controllers to
stear. The best part of that one is that it keeps you on the track for
the most part.

Bowling and golf are pretty standard to wii sports, but bowling
unlocks a nifty mode with 100 pins.

Table tennis works like wii sports tennis. If you understand the
rhythm and don't mind losing sometimes, you'll be ok.

There's a frisbee game that's kind of fun, but it requires a little
more sighted assistance.

I tried power cruising, which is apparently kneeling or standing on a
sort of wake board with a motor attached. It's hard and pretty much
unplaable to us, even with sighted assistance.

I've only barely touched the air sports stuff, flying a plane, sky
diving, etc. That also seems to be a little out of our league.

I haven't tried a couple of other things like archery and basketball,
and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of things, but every sport has
stuff to unlock, so it's worth the time and effort.

Frankly, I'm glad to see the vi-fit stuff, because it's a start, but I
do hope that people keep it up, so that we can have games that rock
just as much as all the stuff I've just talked about.
