Hi Damien, No, that's not a bug. There is a drawbridge you need to lower to get from one ledge to the other.
s p o i l e r s p a c e Go back to room 7, light a torch, and use the view command to look at the wall. There is a hidden pressure switch you need to push to lower the drawbridge. Cheers!
