yes, military use the 360 degrees, which is based on the compass bearings.

I remember doing angles that way in maths, and it does indeed make
more sense, but I'm less convinced that it's used in military forces,
I would've thought they either just use either the usual eight cumpus
directions, or 360 degrees with zero for north.
I'm getting used to it slowly though, it's just harder to remember
where northeast southwest etc are.
Beware the grue!
Dark.
I'm getting used to it at the moment though.

Hi Dallas,
He is using the Cartesian system of angles for direction in Zero
Sight. It makes sense if we are talking Geometry or some higher level
math like that, but most people use the Bearing system when referring
to north, south, east, and west directions in day to day life. North
is (0, 0, 0) and south is (1, 8, 0) in the Bearing system, but in a
Cartesian system (0, 0, 0) is east, and (1, 8, 0) is west.Its easier
from a mathematical point of view to calculate angles when 0 is at a
right angle.
Cheers!

far enough. perhaps an idea with the navigation would be to have it
as a
toggle, so you can choose which system you prefer?
if i may ask, where does the current system of direction come from? so
as i may understand it a little better.
best regards
