Hi,
First of all, sorry for the late answer, holidays struck. Ganeti has a
policy of not checking whether the VM is alive if the hypervisor claims it
is. The reason being that it's hard to agree on a definition of live that
can be applied to all use cases.
What you can do is use post-migration and post-creation hooks to add custom
checks of your own. These won't produce errors, but they can result in
actionable logging messages. Here is a document on hooks:
