Just for the record, this or a similar problem has been caused by Ganeti
using a wrong cabal version
That's not a problem of Ganeti but I think I should write it here.
In some distributions cabal installed with the package cabal-install needs
a version of Cabal library incompatible with one included into ghc package.
So, to solve a problem it's necessary to install the correct version of
Cabal library showed by cabal --version. It can be done by cabal itself.
