i like the question mark as a delimiter because it looks like a question or query point. a query point is a dns-resolvable host running ganglionic software... so it would look like

ganglia:?meta.rocksclusters.org/san diego grid/sdsc rocks 
grid/meteor?compute-0-2/cpu/number
