guys-i've sent a support request to sourceforge to remove all the modules in CVS except for "monitor-core" and "gexec" (which i've asked them to flush out the Attic files).
i've also moved the webfrontend source into ./monitor-core/web/. this will be its home for the foreseeable future. i'm going to (or does someone want to volunteer?) to check that the files there are the latest , greatest files. if i don't hear from anyone, i'll take a look at it. i know we had some CVS version issues raised on the developers list with the webfrontend.
i did add one file to the webfrontend called "version.php" (derived from version.php.in by autoconf). i took all the version information out of "conf.php" and placed it there in order to allow the version to be updated without altering the configuration file.
i moved the new ganglia.spec.in file in from 2.6.0. that will rename and cleanup the rpm install
ganglia-monitor-core-gmond => ganglia-gmond ganglia-monitor-core-gmetad => ganglia-gmetad ganglia-monitor-core-lib => ganglia-devel ganglia-webfrontend => ganglia-web i moved brook davis's varstateconf autoconf changes into CVS.i cleanup up a memory leak in ./gmond/gmond.c and added some more network functions that we needed that apr doesn't (see ./lib/apr_net.c).
i also wanted to say that i'm sorry for all the CVS chaos, the 2.6.0/3.0 chaos... i wish i would have handled things differently. i'm going to work to get everything cleaned up and simplified asap.
i also think we need a trouble ticket/bug report system (something like bugzilla, RT, or cvstrac). i know that source forge has software but it pretty hard to use and has a confusing UI. any ideas? any volunteers?
