I believe Jason Smith from BNL has done some related work which he might want to share :-) IMHO, Nagios is more suited for these kind of alert/notification, however, it might be a bit of an overhead for some folks to install. My thought is that it wouldn't be such a bad idea for Ganglia to provide some very simple alert (RSS based, email, etc.). What do the community think?
