Though it wouldn't be a bad thing to document what you discover about  
the protocol as long as you're looking at it. That'd be a fine piece  
of gardening as it might be of benefit to the SLIME project and would  
certainly allow other creative uses of the SWANK protocol. Of course  
that effort may get obsoleted by changes to the code so you should at  
the very least note which version (i.e. what day you did your cvs  
update) you're talking about.
