The main reasons I thought cl-garnders would be the logical place for
this were:

1. It's a public forum, so if it runs out of steam at some point the
work done up to any given point is not lost, and can be resumed at the
previous pause point.

2. With all the lispers on here, we may be able to track down people
who otherwise couldn't be located.

3. If it gets "approved" as a cl-gardners project, it has more weight
behind the requests than one obscure lisp newbie who is unknown to ANY
of the players ;-). With any luck that will increase its chances of
success.

That was the plan. That will be a fair bit of work, unfortunately, but
I have already started and will try to get it completed over the next
couple of weeks.

Pretty much. This is actually, at this stage, a fairly straightforward
proposition - liberate the sucker. It's the logistics of making all
the contacts (and praying people don't just ignore us) that make it
tricky :-)

Agreed. Actually, it might be better if the name on the communication
is someone with more "weight" in the Lisp community, as they would
probably command more attention - I'm afraid I myself might get
dismissed as just another random email :-/. Once I've got the table
set up and a suitable letter composed it's just a question of pressing
send and crossing one's fingers, really, so perhaps there is a more
appropriate name than mine to put as the main figure in this effort.

Of course, by the same token, since I arrived recently on the scene and
was not involved with Lisp at all while the ANSI process was underway I
have no "baggage" from what I understand was quite an involved process
- I have no agenda except the betterment of the lisp community. I
don't know if that's of importance or not.

I expected that. I have yet to write it, but I think the back of my
brain is already at work on it :-).

No specific concerns, except people making fun of my writing style ;-).
I'll post a draft once I've got something halfway reasonable.

Cheers,
