The way SLIMPL is intended to work is - Vim embeds a Perl interpreter already, so we will use Perl - Create a Perl module that can run in Vim so that we can open a socket and talk to Swank - Write either Perl code or Vim scripts to interface with Swank, ie use Vim script and Perl to rewrite the Slime frontend
