Just to be sure, I updated this pm,
Make distclean
./autogen.sh
CXXFLAGS='-O' CFLAGS='-O2' ./configure --with-pspell --disable-nls
time make
make install
The problem persists.
Note that lyx does go in /usr/local/bin
and most of the right stuff goes in /usr/local/share/lyx
It used to get everything wrong, now just a few things.
