from Lewis L. Smith

In general, gasification is a FAMILY of technologies for turning a great
many kinds of materials into gases, liquids and solids, with gases
predominating.

The details of gasification systems are especially affected by — among
other things — the end use of the gas, which affects gas-cleanup
requirements.

So conceptually, I have no problem.

The interesting item is the latest [January 2010] under "news" —

"IST plans to roll out the GEM slowly over the next year, selling only a
small number to area businesses while it looks out for kinks in the system.
Once they have a handle on maintenance and downtime issues, they plan to
market the GEM nationwide."

In brief, they are on to something but they are cautious and still have
bugs.

Good rollout plan.
