I second your shot. IIRC, this all stems from a Sports Illustrated article from the early 80s that showed that teams with black in their uniforms had a higher winning percentage. The theory was that it made them more intimidating. As a result, it has been used (and over-used) to show how rough and tough a team is. Personally, I think it leads to thuggery. If someone reads the whole article, they will see that basically the entire swing in the statistics came from the performance of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders in the 70s. Ultimately, SI concluded that there was no real correlation, and pointed to the success of the early 70s Miami Dolphins as an example that it is the team that matters, not the team's colors. -Zeb --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
