I admit that I don't know what the circumstances are in this case - but let me phrase it a different way. 
 
If you threw every coach out of football that ever struck a player - most coaches would be gone. 
 
Then they'd all be soccer players!
 
Football players are suppose to be the toughest SOBs you ever met.  Let's not turn them into soccer players.
 
I wonder what Bear Bryant would have to say about this?

I'm not sure in today's climate if he could have survived hitting a player, but hitting a player and then *lying* about it put the USF administration in a tight spot and they didn't really have much choice.

I thought Leavitt was the men's football coach - not the women's tiddly winks coach?

RB coach Carl Franks named interim coach. (I guess the naming of a fmr Gator coach as interim coach makes it Gator related).
