No.  Each school is allowed 85 and we only had 78 on scholarship last year so we were 7 under.

oooooohhhhhhhhh

We had 78 players on a full 4 or 5 year scholarship.  I wonder if Meyer awarded 4 scholarships to walk ons - which leaves only 3 from last year?

Next question - how can 11 players enroll now and 3 count back and 8 count forward?  Seems like a guy for next year can not enroll until summer?

Never mind ... its not that important.  Recruiting is impossible to follow ...

Wake me up when coaching moves are done, juniors are done going pro, recruits are signed, spring ball starts, and the media blackout is lifted.  :-)

Maybe we only had 3 available scholarships from last year?

okay ....

they say 28 recruits will be signed - with only 3 counting towards last year ?

Last year we were 7 under the 85 limit and last year we only signed 16 which is 9 under that limit

I don't understand why only 3 count towards last year ???

Now, all of you who said bad things about Matt Elam, say 3 Hail Marys and 4 Our Fathers!!
Then, give me 3 laps around the Swamp.  J
Even though national signing day is still three weeks away, almost half of Florida's 2010 recruiting class is already in school.

Three of the early enrollees are expected to count back to the 2009 recruiting class. And the Gators are expected to sign the SEC maximum of 28 players on national signing day (Feb. 3).
Of the 24 high school prospects who have committed to the Gators, 11 are enrolled in classes and will participate in spring practice.
The latest early enrollees include three of the five UF commitments who played in Saturday's Army All-American Game in San Antonio — cornerback Jaylen Watkins and West Palm Beach Dwyer teammates Matt Elam (safety) and Gerald Christian (tight end). Elam is one of the three five-star prospects who announced for Florida during Saturday's game. The others were defensive tackle Shariff Floyd and defensive end Ronald Powell.
UF's other early enrollees are defensive end Neiron Ball, quarterback Trey Burton, wide receiver Robert Clark (another Dwyer teammate of Elam and Christian), defensive back Jordan Haden, defensive lineman Leon Orr, wide receiver Solomon Patton, defensive back Joshua Shaw and offensive lineman Ian Silberman.
With UF losing so many impact players (including a handful of underclassmen to the NFL), the early enrollees will have a chance to compete for immediate playing time this spring.
