Yes. I have seen the Hoover Dam a few times. This was a trip at my wife's
request. I had dragged her to the CES the week before and we were waiting
for the Home Builder's show, so she wanted to do some "tourist" things. By
the way, even if we had seen the Canyon, I am not sure I would recommend the
trip. The food was very ordinary, the bus trip was entirely too long, and
the Hoover Dam piece was very poor. We had driven there a couple of times
before and had seen much more than what we saw this time. I might add, the
Hoover Dam will not be available to drive to in a short time. The Homeland
Security Agency has decreed that a by-pass road be constructed and access to
the Dam by car be limited.

Jerry, that is a sad story! I've taken that tour from Vegas before. That's a
long time on a stupid bus for no canyon. At least, I hope, you got to see
Hoover dam.

Leon,

My wife wanted to see the Grand Canyon in January this year. We took a bus
from Las Vegas (a 600 mile round trip). When we finally arrived, they had a
rare blizzard. I could not see 10 feet into the canyon. To make matters
worse on that trip, Las Vegas gets an average rain fall of 4-6 inches per
year. It got its annual rainfall the last week we were there. If the
National Home Builders show had not been such a hit for Clara and I, the
trip would have been an entire bust.

Paula, her mother and I toured the Glen Canyon Dam today at Page, AZ. I
recommend it.

The tour leader said at one point that the dam backs up water 182 miles and
controls enough water to flood the entire State of Tennessee to a height of
one foot of water. I was wearing my Gator Stetson and interrupted to say,
"I think that's an absolutely great idea."
