Hmm. I'm sure I read way back at the beginning of the summer that season tickets had sold out. I can understand how single game tickets could be thought to be sold out until the opposing team returns what they haven't sold, but I don't see how season tickets that were sold could suddenly be unsold. ;-)

I don't know if season tickets sold out. We've gotten multiple emails in the last few months offering opportunities to buy additional single game tickets. At one point, only Miami, Kentucky and Appalachian State remained available. But just last week it was announced that tickets were available to all home games except USF. I interpret that as meaning the schools other than USF all returned some of their tickets. Interestingly enough, the USF game could be the hottest home ticket of the year. In addition, single game tickets were still available last week for Tennessee and Vanderbilt games. I think it is likely that the economy is having an impact, both in reducing orders for season tickets and reducing interest by opposing teams' fans in traveling to away games. Plus you have the fact that this is the first year post-Tebow and some people no doubt bought tix just to see him. Plus even-numbered years have a less attractive schedule (in odd-numbered years we get FSU and Tennessee at home). I think official capacity is only 89,000 or something like that, and I can't remember a game when attendance wasn't over 90,000 so... is every game a sellout? I'm pretty sure the only two games that weren't already sold out during the summer were this one and Appalachian State. I remember reading somewhere that season tickets have sold out every year except the year we went 0-10-1... and that was 1979, right?
