Maybe there were longer passes called but they weren't open. Maybe there were longer passes called and Brantley checked down. Maybe there were longer passes called and the OL didn't protect long enough. Maybe Bama learned from the Arkansas game and adjusted their defense so what Mallet was doing doesn't work anymore.

I'm not sure if the offense is telegraphing plays or not, but I don't disagree that we are, and have been, too predictable. I don't have a problem with a "FRESHMAN" running the play. I don't care what class the guy is and Burton has shown that he is not an ordinary freshman. He obviously proved in practice that he could execute the play or they wouldn't have called it.

And placing a spy on McElroy is a ridiculous idea in my opinion. He is absolutely not a player that scares you enough to designate a spy on just him. Especially when you have two of the best running backs and one of the best wide receivers in college football that you sort of need to keep an eye on too. Maybe we should just put 13 players on defense.

The BIG problem was that Brantley didn't stretch the field.Addazio
simply kept it short and intermediate in the passing game. And that
played into 'Bama's game plan.Bama just pinned their ears back and put
pressure on EVERY down since they needn't worry about a deep pass or a
ground attack. If Mallet was able to go deep with some success,WHY
didn't the coaching staff take advantage??
Furthermore,Meyer and the offensive unit TELEGRAPH plays! They've been
doing it ever since Meyer took over, but this is ridiculous!EVERYONE in
the stadium,on TV and elsewhere KNEW that jump pass was coming;and you
allow a FRESHMAN to run it on FOURTH DOWN??
A non effective ground game sank us as well as the turnovers.I know
Demps was hurt, but Moody hasn't exactly lit up the field. We don't have
ANYONE who can tote the ball for a couple of yards??Let's not forget
a rather POROUS offensive line AND Pouncey's snap problems....
Defensively, the staff STILL HASN'T LEARNED to place a 'spy' on
McElroy--he certainly had some nice Gatorless stretches of field at
times.Hopefully, this loss will wake up the team and staff and remind
them of just how they got to be champions.....
BRING ON LSU!!

I agree with Randy....turnovers killed us. We still need better play

we never change them.

You may be right, but I did not see them substitute their big horses
until their last possession or two. Then it seemed an effort for Saban
to allow some to build some statistics.

I think this is one of those games where the stats don't really reflect
how dominating Bama was against us. It felt to me like they took the
foot off the gas after the INT returned for a TD in the 3rd quarter. If
they wanted to, they could have kept pounding it and doing whatever they
wanted.

All that being said, I didn't expect to win this game and it's out of my
mind. Bring on LSU. I think we take them.

Not trying to see everything through pink glasses, but according to the
stats, Bama only beat us in rushing yards and they had one more first
down than we had. We were able to move the ball on them, and had a total
of 281 yards of offense while they only had 273.

Now, I have never pretended to be any kind of football expert, but I
honestly think if we simply eliminate the turnovers, the choking in the
red zone, and start designing plays more to Brantley's strengths, we'll
be ok.
