I see this point, it is what I meant to imply with #1; moving Pouncey
to Center allows a talented Guard or Tackle on to the field that
would otherwise be on the bench.
The follow up then is, who is the new guy, and then to explore how
well we think he has performed.

Zeb,
I would add a #4.
4. Pouncey even with the snap problems might allow the five best
linemen to be on the field at the same time. Robey might still be
a year away. He came really undersized for a center as I remember.
I think this week we will see if there will be some significant
improvement at the center position. Will Pouncey learn from the
Alabama game? In reality, this is still only Pouncey’s forth game
at center.
I also think that if there was a promise to Pouncey, Pouncey
himself will suggest the move back to guard if he feels that he is
not the best hope at the center position.

Well, I have been saying that moving Pouncey to center was a bad
idea since
it was first announced. I was willing to give the staff the
benefit of the
doubt, even after a couple of games because not everyone was
healthy (Nixon)
or available (Johnson). 3 games later, everybody is available and
healthy,
we still have 3 guys out of position (Gilbert, Nixon, Pouncey), and
we are
still struggling. Time to regroup.
Does anything think that the move to center was:
1. an effort to upgrade one of the tackle/guard positions
2. to cover for an ineffective Robey
3 a promise made to Pouncey so he would return for his senior season
