I am absolutely proud of Cam Newton.  We recruited him to be a Gator and he
became one. If we had wanted him to remain a Gator, we would have kept him.

We didn't.

I'm glad he's doing well.

This has been the pattern during Auburn football broadcasts. No mention
of his arrest or what charges were brought;just that he
transferred. His dad made the statement about it being about playing
time--saying that Meyer would not tell Newton if he was #2 or #3 on
the depth chart at QB.Funnier still is how they say the reason he
ended up at Auburn was so that he could be closer to family---he was
set to go to one of the Mississippi schools;yet he went out to Texas
for the junior college.
He "cherry picked" his JUCO--one that he could step in and start right
away;then he could pick and choose a D1 school as the transfer rules
are different in regards to junior college.Auburn stepped in a 'gave'
him what he wanted.
