FWIW, I was at the Outback Bowl today and was having a casual chat
with a Gator player's parent before the game. She said that it's
her impression the players aren't crazy about Weis, and she alluded
that Meyer wasn't that crazy about Weis coming in as OC either. I
thought that was interesting, seeing as how Meyer's a friend of
Belichick and Weis was OC under Belichick...you'd think he'd be all
for it.
Her impression was that the group all seem to like Muschamp,
although they've only met with him once, so far.

The announcers on the UCF-Dawgie game are acting very impressed
that Muschamp might get Weis. The year Weis has had in Kansas City
has been outstanding. Weis didn't get Notre Dame over the hump,
but who has in decades? Notre Dame's just not a marquee program
anymore.
We'll see.

My initial reaction is the same of yours but my husband was pretty
unruffled when I told him. He thinks it's actually a pretty safe
hire, not exciting but he was/is a good OC and certainly knows how
to implement a pro-style offense.
