I guess it really depends on where you are around Pittsburgh. It is actually about the size of Jacksonville. Like Jacksonville it has its good and bad areas. Some areas of Jacksonville are really nice like Ortega, Empire Point, Baymeadows, etc. Others are not quite so nice, like Paxon, Murray Hill, Bayyard, etc. Pittsburgh is no different. It has some great neighborhoods and some less attractive ones. In many ways, Jacksonville and Pittsburgh have many similarities-both river communities. Pittsburgh is a little older than Jacksonville and has some really old neighborhoods that date back to Colonial Days. The University of Pittsburgh was actually founded in 1787.

Of course, that was in July. Just seeing pictures of Pittsburgh in winter was more than enough for me. I guess it was enough for my sister, too.
