If you watch his video, he mentions he got into coaching by first talking to Jeremy Foley. He said to Foley that he aspired to be the GM of the New York Knicks, so Foley got him started on the ground level doing video work with Billy D. Carolyn Peck supposedly "stole" him for the women's side and that's when he got the exposure to and interest in coaching the women's game.
Makes one wonder if this is the hand of Foley in these firings and hirings? Some people have "complained" that he gets too involved in the realm of the individual coaching staffs. I think maybe he lets everyone be unless things are going south, and then he steps in. I wonder if the staff change was possibly part of giving Butler the extension?
