I’m not so sure that it had much of an effect on the players. Unless they had taken their phones away, most of them already were aware of it and probably were taking about it. Which is probably why McElwain thought it needed to be addressed. That’s on Strickland and whichever member of his staff leaked it out.
There are a lot of potential good coaches being mentioned, but don’t be surprised if he chooses Mullen. This situation is very similar to when Zook was fired and Meyer was preselected by a Machen even though Spurrier was available. Meyer worked out till he had his meltdown. I doubt that Mullen will do anything but set us back several more years. I favor Frost given everything I have read so far. GoGators!!!
