I was interested in your letter. I am from a bit far afield (Sydney Australia) but I am interested in Hijras. I understood that they harrased / amused people at weddings & child naming ceremonies. I was not aware that thye did it on trains. Do you think they selected you for harrasement. because of your sexuality? Other reasons? In Austratlia in recent times Transgender people have come to included with Gays Lesbian Bisexuals. This strikes me as a bit difficult as Transgender people also strongly identify with traditional sex roles. As Hijras do not try to pass as women perhaps this is a different situation. I understand that Hijras are delining in numbers. Is this correct? Is this due to greater exposure to liberal views on sex and sexuality?
